On Letting Go

Hi, I'm Dom (Dominique), yes like fast and furious, and I do not live my life a quarter mile at a time because I like to have a game plan, backup plans, and also a backup for the original backup plan to ensure every event I work runs smoothly. I was born and raised in the small town of Upland, Indiana, surrounded by cornfields, a well-known small town for a famous ice cream restaurant (Ivanhoe's).

I'm a firm believer that sides, aka mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, make up the best meals. Diet Coke fuels my life and I might be a water snob because I believe nothing compares to San Pellegrino. Where am I if I'm not at an event? I can bet you I'm working on the couch watching documentaries or horribly addicting reality tv while working on my computer.

What would you do if I told you I started planning events at the age of 3 years old? My mother still talks about the elegantly detailed tea parties I planned for all the family to attend. Hospitality is deeply rooted in me and has become my life’s passion.

As an event planner, I get to be a part of some of the biggest moments of my clients’ lives, from weddings, quinceaneras, birthdays, baby showers, and everything in between. My events smoothly because every detail, large or small, is checked off the list and double-checked to ensure nothing is missed. Are you on the fence about hiring an event planner?

A planner will make a world of difference to your event. The right planner will be able to understand your vision inside and out and bring it to life the same way an artist paints a masterpiece. During your event, you will be able to truly let go and enjoy the day as a host and feel like a guest rather than worrying about a million little details.

How am I different from other event planners?

I'm a lover of all things eclectic and love adventurous, bold, and romantic designs. I like to create something unique for each of my clients inspired by their vision instead of a copy-and-paste Pinterest method. I love to help create environments for my clients that represent them and their celebratory milestones versus a recent trend. In my opinion, the main difference in planners is the person you are dealing with versus the service of planning an event. For all potential clients, I love to do a virtual/phone or in-person free consultation to ensure we are a good match and understand your needs before we commit to each other. Having a planner, you're comfortable with and connect with is key to trusting someone to take the heavy lifting off of your plate.
